VRGL is named after Virgil, the ghost of the Roman poet who guided Dante through the Inferno. As a result, Virgil came to be known as a symbol of human reason that guides and protects others on their journey. Today, VRGL helps advisors guide clients with clear-eyed quantitative views of their portfolios, leading them to smarter investment strategies.

MEET THE EXECUTIVE TEAM

Kyle Zasky

CEO

Kyle Zasky is the CEO of VRGL. Kyle has spent his 30-year career focused on innovative and disruptive technologies across investment management, wealth tech, and capital markets. He founded EdgeTrade, a pioneer in the trading space, which was acquired by Knight/Virtu in 2008. Following the acquisition, Kyle spent a decade as a fintech banker and venture capitalist.

Prior to joining VRGL, he served as CEO of LayerOne Financial, a comprehensive platform for hedge funds that provided mission-critical infrastructure across portfolio management, order management, risk, analytics, compliance, and reporting. LayerOne was successfully acquired by JP Morgan in 2024. A key ingredient to Kyle's leadership style and success is cultivating a client-centric corporate culture that permeates throughout the organizations he leads.

Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Science from NYU's Stern School of Business and lives with his family in New York City.

JOSH ZIMMERMAN

CTO

Josh Zimmerman ("JZ") is Co-founder and CTO of VRGL. Having spent his career at the intersection of investments and technology, JZ has leveraged data and automation to deliver insight, improve accuracy, and reduce operational burdens. Prior to VRGL, JZ built the Solovis Research and Development group, a data science team that brings multi-asset class risk analytics to institutional investors. JZ has held buy-side and sell-side trading as well as portfolio management roles. He is adept at developing technology to identify and capture opportunity and navigating complex portfolios through diverse market cycles, including the 2008 Financial Crisis. With VRGL, JZ leads a team to develop impactful, flexible, and intuitive investment analytics to bring leading edge tools to the advisory space.

JZ graduated from UC Berkeley and holds a masters degree from City University of New York. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, three kids, and pandemic puppy.

Jesse Gurevich

Chief of Staff

Jesse Gurevich is the Chief of Staff at VRGL.  Jesse brings over 24 years of capital markets and fintech experience to the team. Most recently, Jesse served as the Chief of Staff at Solovis, an industry pioneer in multi-asset class analytics for institutional investors which was sold to Nasdaq in 2020. Solovis is the system of record for many of the top tier pension funds, most prestigious universities and the largest family offices throughout the world. Jesse had joined Josh & his Co-founder at Solovis as the first employee and helped ramp the business to a team size of 150 by the time of the exit.

Prior to Solovis, he spent stints at eFront (exited to BlackRock) Vision Capital Advisors (hedge fund) UNX (agency trading shop) BRUT ECN (part of Nasdaq), and UBS. Jesse resides in Dallas, TX.

Kevin Larkin

SVP, Product & Client Experience

Kevin Larkin serves as the Senior Vice President of Product and Client Experience, overseeing the Client Experience team and driving firm-wide projects focused on efficient team scaling to surpass client expectations. With a six-year tenure at Solovis Inc., Kevin held multiple positions, including leading the professional services organization and overseeing software engineering teams, always prioritizing client experience and satisfaction. During this time, he played a vital role in scaling the organization and providing personalized guidance to top clients. Kevin's dedication to talent development is evident in his track record of adjusting team structures and roles to align with client objectives while providing exciting career opportunities.

Prior to joining Solovis, Kevin accumulated valuable experience in consulting for prominent cable and telecommunications companies. In this role, he was responsible for creating and interpreting robust mathematical models to identify target markets for major corporations. He successfully presented these findings to clients, enabling informed decision-making.

Kevin holds a degree in Quantitative Finance from James Madison University. Currently residing in Dallas, TX, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.

Hayley Aiello

VP, Client Experience & Operations

Hayley Aiello is the VP of Client Experience and Operations at VRGL. Hayley oversees the implementation and training of new clients, as well as the ongoing client support and relationship management functions of VRGL. She also oversees the internal statement extraction operations, working with the team to maximize efficiency and regularly surpass client expectations.

Hayley graduated from University of Virginia in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Economics and English. She graduated from UVA's McIntire School of Commerce with a master's degree in Commerce in 2021, before joining VRGL in early 2022. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband.

Maddie Bauman

VP, Marketing & Revenue Growth

Maddie Bauman is the VP of Marketing & Revenue Growth at VRGL. Maddie leads the company's go-to-market strategy, positioning VRGL as the leading investment proposal platform for financial advisors. She oversees brand strategy, demand generation, partner marketing, and digital campaigns, all with a focus on driving revenue growth.

Maddie earned her MBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington before joining VRGL in 2023. She lives in Dallas with her family.
